Ive got a magnex full exhaust including down pipe, but I need to remove it. Ive undone the 6 nuts holding it to the manifold, so its now loose. However I cant seem to pull it far enough from the mid section to get it apart! How on earth do you get them far enough apart to split them?
Second question is Ive read on here you need to drop the subframe to get the down pipe out. Is this true?? Looking at it I would think I could get it through?

Have you taken the exhaust rubbers off? If you take them off you slide the exhaust much further back to get it off the studs.
As for the sub-frame, it seems some exhausts will, some won't. Mine didn't. Someone also said that the lower you can tilt the exhaust the more likely it will fit through the gap, so the higher the ramps/axle stands the better I guess.

If you do lower the subframe be immensely careful with the bolts - I would recut or replace the bolts when you get them out

i had to loosen my stearing rack when i had to change mine, come out a treat

It will come out without dropping the subframe however you need alot of clearance. I had to twist it right round to get it out. Its bloody tight!!

to remove my downpipe i turned it upside down and jacked engine up until it cleared

Well that wasnt to bad, the hardest bit was getting it to split from the centre section. Once it was loose It slid out between the bulkhead and subframe ok. And I only had it on axle stands!
