Have a search though the posts as there are lots of threads about htis, for the power/money ratio the 2l bottom end seems to be the best option . Cheap and relativley easy to do  then follow it up with a cam after that , all depends on how much money you are willing to spend.

Don't you mean PB? :undecided:

I have a Kent GS2H camshaft fitted to my 8v GTi. Makes a nice difference. Haven't put it on the RR to find out total BHP gain though. The website says you can get up to a 12HP gain.

I've been told that a 2e bottom end from a MK3 Golf/Vento/Passat, if you have a Digifant MK2, its a direct fit.

There are a few options with the 2.0 bottom end.
The easiest option is to fit the 2E bottom end out of an early mk3 gti. There are plenty of threads on this, so if you do a search on here you can find out all you need to know.

Those chips are a total waste of money.

pf = pb with a cat, so anything you can do to a pb you can do to a pf :)
only thing you have to worry about is how strict your emmissions laws are, if you go too far you might not pass.  cheapest way forward is a 2e bottom end, lots of torque.

the cat has been removed , the emission's law's ere are the same as the u.k

3.5% CO and 1200 PPM Hc

the car is a german car imported to holland in 1998

but i will start a seperate thread on the car as i am doing a lot to it over the next couple of week's

i've jsut built my pb lump with a ported port matched head, and a newman 288 race / rally cam, along with a stainless 4 branch manifold and de cat pipe. The difference is immense, and pulls like a steam train all the way to 7k or more!!!!

Yes noticed Difference, not massive but does drive better in my opinion, i would imagine it needs other mods to get the best of it as it pushes more fuel in to Engine, more Airflow
