Title: Desperately seeking F131 JKR?
Post by: tomcatscreenplays on 04 October 2008, 15:14

Ok, so I decided against the project I was thinking of taking on as it seemed like too much work for me (Wife, 2 kids, 1 karting, and soon to be 3 kids)

But I realised that all I really wanted was my old car back so here goes a long shot, and you willprobably not understand why I am so bothered about a car that is pretty much 10 a penny.

F131 JKR was my old Mk2 valver- 3 door tornado red, 1989 with big bumper conversion and grey leather (leather had been in every mk2 I had ever owned and I got it from the original car that it was in from new, my 1st valver) I know it was sold again in the last 6 months so possibly thought someone on here may have it (that's what I mean by a long shot) If you have it and you would consider selling it, or if you know who's got it and think they might sell it I'd please get in touch.

I'm sad I know but I regret selling it in the first place and was annoyed that I missed out on buying it back when I saw it just after it sold recently.

If anyone can tell me how to put a picture on I will upload one if that helps.

Thanks
Tom

If you own this car give it a good search for a large stash of cash or drugs ASAP.

I joke.

go onto the dvla website, and you can find out if the car is still on the road.

and i think you can apply for a list of names/addresses of all the keepers of the car. Costs about £5 maybe £10 cant remember. then simply write a letter to the owner or go knocking!

i saw my first car, a 1971 beetle drive right past me a few months ago, i sold that car 8 years ago!!!
the next day i went out and bought an identical one, trying to re-live my memories of the original bug. but sadly even tho the cars "the same" its not the same car

1st bug i bought in 1997

Thanks for that.
I just had a look and it is listed but tax is due to expire. I couldn't see anywhere to get a list of keepers which is a bit of a downer as that sounded like the way to go. Someone else told me that it isn't on the Motor Insurers Database either so it is possbily not insured so more than likely off the road.
I just wish I bought it back when it was for sale a few months ago but I didn't see it advertised until it was too late.
Pain in the a**e.

That's cool, it's another possibility.
Hopefully the video wasn't of someone crashing it. lol

Ah
maybe won't be quite the car I remember then. it was ported polished and gas flowed before I got it with the normal drilled airbox and sports exhaust system from the manifold back.
I had a mk4 gti t and not sure I would like a mk2 that was combined with the drive of that.
Shame
