Title: door broke

my n/s door wont open as the handle is playin up on my 89 mk2 8v, iv ripped the door card off ant the metal rod is moving wheb i pull in indoor handle an the central lockin still works, but also when i try it from the outside handle it wont click as normal andy ideas?

On the back of the catch a piece of plastic slips over a metal prong which attaches to 1 of the bars mine snapped and fell off couldnt open door from eitha in or out the car and had to snap the door card in 2 :embarassed:

This was after i fitted the door, leccy window mech, and central locking from my old door

take the handle off and grease all the moving parts :)
