Title: engine change

scrapped one of my old girls today........
time to pay attention to the main machine now. ive had a few probs with the engine and just keep getting it fixed now im thinking its time for a tuned 8v engine does anyone know where the best place to go for fitting and purchase would be? ive got a kent cam in mine if i bought one with the pistons etc lightened would i notice the difference?

get a 2ltr block and work from that

Yeah, 2E engine out of a mk3. Rebuild the bottom end if you want it fully balanced etc and lighten flywheel. Can use your existing PB head etc.
