Title: noisy engine
Post by: millermister on 01 October 2008, 17:04
Hi people,
Just after a bit of advice if possible, havnt had my golf gti fsi 06 plate for long and it seems to have developed a rather strange tappety, diesel sound on idle, just wondered if anyone knows what this can be and more importantly anything serious, and how much would this cost if possible. The car still drives spot on, plenty of pull etc.Its only covered 21500 miles thats y im a bit puzzled.
                                      thanks
                                               steve

Your starting to sound as bad as me.

Sounds like a nice position to be in really, wish I could keep the miles down on mine a bit more but until the oldie Golf is ready for the road, currently the choice is between taking mine or the GF's 1.4 Polo Match with 80BHP to work, it's not surprising the "olop" rarely wins.

Ah but i have the opposite dilema Steve, i have to do a lot of miles in a really sh!t vehicle. i would love to be-able to do work miles in a ED30 your very lucky. and at the end of the day the GTI is designed to do lots of miles not sit in a garge wrapped in cotton wool.
