hiya guys still havin problems with my washing of the car bought a maguire lambs wool wash mit i do the two bucket wash dry using a large maguire drying towel but still get scratches this is -issing me of big style please help the car is black magic in colour thanks

make sure you give the car a very good rince with a pressure washer and a pre soak in shampoo and an other rince before you start to wash the car with the 2 bucket method this should remove most of the dust and road grime. but chances are the scratches are the exsisting ones caused by previous bad washing your doing the right thing using the wash mit and drying towel.but it sounds like the paint could do with a good machine polish to get rid of the rds and swirl marks.this should get the paint near mint then its just a case of looking after the paint ie lambs wool wash mit and drying towels pre soak and rince

thanks for that looking to get one of the group buy polishing machines trying to talk the mrs into giving it for xmas

arr cool they are a great bit of kit ive only got a £35 silverline but just as good mybe you could just try the silverline for now its totaly up to you tho that way you could spend the rest on polishes and pads you will find your self wanting to try driffent products to get the results and spending a bit on pads ect . here's a link to my car i did this a few months back http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=81901.msg667596#msg667596 it just shows whats achiveable with the silverline and there's a list of what i used and where i got it from there's loads more info over at www.deatailingworld.co.uk

dry using a large maguire drying towel but still get scratches
You could try changing to a different drying towel if yours is a Water Magnet Drying towel as there have been several threads on Detailing World with people not too happy with Meguiar's Water Magnets for this very reason

Also do you "wipe" dry or "pat" dry after washing ?

Clay it
-
dont use megs towels simple as that, they are crap on black cars
cant see claying removing sctatches either

correct!!!!!! claying does'nt remove scratches, it removes bonded contaminants, industerial fallout, etc.
machine polishing ftw!
