Title: Can you use a Mk4 key which has been cut to a mk2 lock.

i am thinking of buying a mk4 blank key and have the mk2 key cut onto it would it work or does anyone know anyone who has done it before???

My mate has had this done on his mk2 Rallye key.

I've seen a complete "how to" on this on another forum - Can't remember which though sorry. It was a lot of work though IIRC as the metal thicknesses are completely different.

i done it to mine, quite easy just spend alot of time on it, there is a tutorial on vwvortex just cant seem to find it atm

You're lucky, I don't have the originals  :sad:

I do like the look of the MK4 key fobs for MK2's.
