Title: CD's jammed in autochanger - help please
Post by: kingbilly on 29 September 2008, 22:21
I wonder if anyone can please help me.  Managed to get some CD's stuck in my CD Autochanger contained in the centre arm rest of a mk5 GTi.  Anyone know how to retrieve them, or how to access the changer unit.

Any advice greatly received.

Thank you.

I had a CD stuck in my dash autochanger, two months after I bought the car.
There was nothing to do but to change the whole thing, guarantee covered that.

Depending on how old the car is, or if you don't mind braking the "warranty seal" on the CDC, then they can fairly easily be extracted by removing the CDC from the armrest, and opening the case.  I had the same happen in my last S4, and managed to retrieve 5 of the six discs intact, wrecking just one.  The changer worked fine afterwards, and was considerably cheaper than what the stealer wanted !!!
