Hi chaps,
I'm back and this time i have a MK1 cabriolet. I sold my G60 golf (to expensive to run as a daily driver) and got an audi A4 to travel to work in and a cabrio for the weekends which i share with the missus.
Not a bad car, its a 1.8 gti although it does feel sluggish, is this normal? It'll need a bit of paintwork and a new set of rims.
Where can i buy the foam that covers the center roll bar from?
Cheers for the help
Tom

welcome back tom,
u have an excellent taste in cars mate 8)
i think considering your last car was a g60 the cab is gonna feel sluggish but they are still usually a good bit of fun. hold old is it? maybe a service and a fine tune is all it needs to get it running well.
i havent seen yet seen the rollbar foam for sale anywhere but ill keep a look out for it ;)
any pics??? ;D

Cheers mate,
Its an E-reg with 120k on the clock. It is in need of a service and a tune up. The engine hunts badly, i have been told that this is due to incorrect fuel/air?
I'll definately post some pictures before and after the respray.

Try http://www.aldridge.co.uk/main.htm (http://www.aldridge.co.uk/main.htm) who are apparently a good source for all manner of trims. The website doesnt mention VW but they are mentioned in the Golf restoration manual I have.

Yeah, shall get some "before/after" shots of the car. To be honest i didn't think the cabrio was my cup of tea but you can't help liking it. As i said before, once the few bits and pieces have been sorted it should be quite nice.
By the way, the car has got a clipper kit on it ( i don't think it's origional) and i want to seal the arches to the bodywork as there is a small gap. Has anybody done this??
Cheers
Tom
