Title: warning lights

ive had a warning light come on my dash the light were the glow plug light is on diesels is flashing on my 16v what i dont get s that the it doesent have a symbol above the light ie oil preasure, main beam , etc its just blank ive read the manual and it says nothing about what this is on the petrols is it a engine management light

On my 16v thats the coolant warning light. It flashes when coolant levels are low or its overheating.

Most common fault is faulty wiring in the expansion tank. Have a search, as theres been loads of instances of this lately.

look at the temp gauage Dave, thats HIS water light, same as on my CL  :wink:

do you have a connector on the top of your expansion tank ????

bridge the wires on that, if it stops then thats your problem .

are those your actual clocks ?????

no theese arnt my clocks mine are the same better nick and with white dials look quite smart i found these on google images just to explain what i meant i have figured out the problem now though so thank you very much for your help  :smiley:

aha, pre-90 white dials on a set of post 90 clocks, pre 90s have the low level/overheat light in the temp gauge, post 90s have it in the middle of the top row of leds.  White dial kit just dosent have the temp logo on it.

so what is the light that was on in my car then im confussed now also my oil preasure light flashes when under hard breaking where the revs drop realy low is that normal

how low, since the oil pump is driven by the engine if the idle drops too low the oil pressure will drop.

the light only flashes on and off very quickley revs drop to mabee 950ish
