Thanks mate! Actually it feels the same, the main difference was the wheels/tyres but the springs don't seem any harder. Just have to be a little more carefull over the speed bumps!

ST wheels?!?!?!

Thanks Phil! ( I happen to love my 'A-Team' wheels thank you! )

Im afraid to say after seeing the pics in the press this week I was quite chuffed as it didn't look too different and didn't hanker after one! But my god it has some presence in the flesh!  And it was a red one I saw

There was still something about your old wheels though - they were different, and they worked so well with your car.

Don't read this as me saying I prefer your old ones - the best way to put it is ... both sets look absolutely brilliant in their own ways.

The 'old' ones are most definately staying and will be back on the car come the spring. As much as I love the new wheels the huffs are the DNA of my car!
Thanks the kind words though WhiteGTI

Bingo!

No offence taken pal  I've had them painted in a dark anthracite and now you say it the colour does make them look a bit ST which is no bad thing as I happen to think they are lovely wheels.

I'll say it - those lambo wheels work on the lambo. Not convinced it works on the GTI. Horses for courses I guess.

Loved the old wheels though - what happened to them?

Love the rest of the car, esp the red lip.

Looks absolutely stunning mate, excellent choice of wheels, especially like them in anthracite, most people would just leave them silver.

Greenouse,

Am i correct in thinking the correct termanology is powder coating NOT painting? Seriously thinking about getting me RS4S done after seeing them.

How much did it cost you mate and what colour are they?
Cheers
Chris.

think he had them painted, powder coating is when a powder is applied to the wheels whilst an electric current is passed through the wheel, the wheels are then baked a little, i actually prefer the paint finish as it is generally smoother and looks better, but powder coat is more durable

Cheers for the answer Shaun

They actually cost me nowt to get painted as I have a mate who owns a bodyshop. I asked him for a dark anthracite and he acheived the colour with a silver base and five layers of black laquer. He did ask me not to kurb them as he'd struggle to re-create the match  :embarassed:

Hi E30M3,
