Well,
Finally got to go on a local rolling road day with some varied cars.
The results are in and........
332.8 bhp and 335.4 lbft
Pics and graph to follow soon.
JBS told me it was around 335bhp and on the day most people were getting just under their estimates, so the dyno seems to be conservative, rather than over reading.
The recent DSG service seems to have helped with reducing the slip to zero and overall I'm really happy with the results.
Still having the Quaife done too, so all is good at camp Hurdy at the moment.
-
well done mate, looking foward to seeing the graphs to see how the power is layed into the tarmac!
You have 99.8 more BHP then me!!!!!!!!!! in the same dam car!!!!!!
-
which dyno was it?
-
Nice one mate.. Good to hear you're happy.. About time eh..
Now get it down Pod and finally show us what it can do.. :smug:
Was it done at JBS I take it?
-
which dyno was it?
MAHA 2000 dyno at Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield. The dyno is the same make as VW racing use, so I'm told.
Nice one mate.. Good to hear you're happy.. About time eh..

Yes, it was done at JBS Ben
I'm feeling the pull of the Pod again too
Just need to modulate my right foot better for the grip :embarassed:
-
Few of us going 11th Oct mate. On till 9pm too .. Coming?
-

-

I can imagine what a monster you E30 is!

The only thing you have left to do is get a proper intake on there lad. Nice one
-
Here is the readout as promised.
Thankfully, no huge torque spike, but a well rounded hump between 3k and 4.5k revs.
The other thing I noticed is that the power is still building at 6300 revs, where he stopped accellerating and took the reading.
I was quite impressed with Noble and how they set up each car beforehand to ensure the runs were accurate. After each run they had a word with the drivers to tell them what they thought of the car and how it was running. A few had issues and Noble gave their professional opinions on these. They said mine was running spot on, fuelling was excellent and that he was impressed with how it delivered the power and how smoothly it was delivered.
All I need now is a good set-up to get the power down on the road cleanly :embarassed:
Oh, nearly forgot to mention, the car is running around 1.6 bar of boost and as you can see from the graph builds boost to around 2500/2700 revs and then holds it all the way to 5750 revs before slowly dropping back to just over 1.3bar.

nice curves Hurdy (oo er!)
-
Wonder why the RR operator didn't go past that highest rpm as hp still seems to be increasing...
-
Nice graph there. Smooth power curve.
-

The automatic gear change comes in at around 6500-6600 rpm and so there is at least another 300rpm he could have squeezed out of it. A matching 335bhp and 335lbft would have been good.
-
I think you'll find that it would of been where the gear change came in mate..
It may show 6500-6600rpm on the clock, but is more than likely less in reality.. I remember mine showing less than I thought on Awesome's graph. It was too still climbing before the gear change comes in..
-
Thats good news, i thought a few months back you might have traded in but you stuck with it
-
Congrats hurdy, some really nice figures there
-
what a tool!!!

good stuff pal   1.6bar of boost   thats a very lot, mines 1.2 at the moment, i think standard is 0.7
u coming on gazes RR day at prosport

Actually peaks at 1.6 and then about 1.55 bar to 5750rpm.. JBS said they could have upped the boost more, but realistically it is about the best you can get without overstressing the turbo.
Would have loved to come on the RR day, but I'm working the weekend again. I'm already looking into cover, so there's hope yet

I wonder if that kind of pressure has negative effect on turbo, especially its life expectancy :undecided:

Just over 11k miles. It seems to be settling in nicely now. The smell of cash about to be spent on Quaife looms in the air

That's because Shaun collects posts like he does bloody Pescaras...

Good to see this Hurdy. The only difference in set up between yours and mine is you having the twintercooler and the DSG box. I would expect mine will be putting out similar figures which is convincing! Need to get mine RR'd, wanted to go to the day at Prosport but gonna be in Portugal im afraid!
-
Liar, you're just running scared..
Do you fancy joining a few of us at Santa Pod on the 11th Tom. Be good to see it up the strip to see what it'll do?
-
Oh noooo!, im not running at all!! Very confident she will make well over 300bhp
I do fancy Santa Pod, would be good that. Love to see what she would do over the 1/4 mile. Will look into it definately!
-
I'll guarantee it does more than 300
