Ok be gentle i have never waxed a car in my life before. :embarassed:
Bought some Collinite 476s so got a few questions
1, - Is it best to put on the car with your hands or a applicator. :undecided:
2, - How thick or thin should it be applied on. :undecided:
3, - How long should it be left on before buffing off.
4, - By hand how should it be buffed off IE when washing you shouldn't use circular motion is it the same for wax. :embarassed:
5, - I know i must mask off black trim but must you also mask off rubber window seals. :embarassed:
6, - What is the best type of cloth to buff the wax with. :undecided:
Thanks in advance guys.

Well I think it differs from person to person and which wax you use...
When I use Victoria Concour Red I do it this way:
1- I use my hand to apply the wax in itty bitty circles, as that way I can get all the little bits. Make sure your hand is clean and grit free :P
2- Thin layer of wax panel by panel
3- I wait until its just starting to dry but in sunlight a lot faster. Nothing sucks more than dried on wax... :(
4- I just buff over it with one cloth then get another to get the rest off. That way im not reapplying the wax off of the other cloth
5- Mask everything off as much as you can I guess. However I know that some people wax their windows so the water beads and runs off. Good idea if you've dewipered your car.
6- I use microfibre cloths for all my detailing
aaaaaaand I'm done going on :D

As in the link imo, put it on thinly as possible using a sponge applicator, buff off using a microfiber wipe, for an even coverage reapply the wax using the same thin method, if you do it too thickly it can be hard to shift

7) Post pictures of finished car on golfgti.co.uk
btw, I would not put collinite on by hand, use an applicator because collinite is a bit chemically compared to other carnauba based waxes
