Could anyone tell me if the Mk2 gti gearbox is the same as the Mk1??  :kiss:

yes and no, its the same physical shape but the gear ratios are different.  also the mk2 gti box has 100mm driveshaft flanges, mk1 has 90mm.  you can swap flanges or fit 100mm shafts off a later cab or rocco.

ETKA also recons MK2 100mm driveshafts are the same as MK1 100mm driveshafts, but I've never tried this myself to confirm either way.

I fitted a mk2 GTI box to my mk1 cab. As said, I just needed to swap the driveshaft flanges over.
