Title: German Plates
Post by: garethmk1 on 19 September 2008, 18:18
Dear All,

What are peoples opinions of german style licence / index plates ?  I know they're not exactly compliant with the relevant road traffic legislation, I do quite like them.  For those who do like them, would anyone be interested in a group buy ?

Regards,

Gareth

guys, just so you all know...

dont ever start conversation ever again with anyone, goto a library and read about what you thought you were going to ask them...

Yes, sorry, I am fully aware of the legislation - I was asking for an opinion not any specific question.  If you had read my first post I was asking whether people were also interested in a group buy.  Thankl you for your pointless contributions regarding the search facility - I am fully aware how to use them.

To all those who have responded, Blue et al - thank you very much.

What's the point in a discussion forum where nobody discusses and people are pointed to the search facility - I use this forum to engage with other members in terms of differing opinions and not just for the reason of data acquisition.

Regards,

Gareth

Gareth was trying to be helpful not fob you off mate! the only reason people point you in the direction of the search facility on this occassion is because it has been discussed so much there is alot of info from various forum members that will help you with what you are looking for.

But I reckon go for it or just have them on for shows?

An stop rippin on sharpie! He's right, there are roughly 1.6million other threads and approx 128,439 stickis about german plates, it's probably the most asked question in the community.

If people dont have anything constructive to say randomjord, its best they refrain from upsetting  potentially new and existing members by

typing unhelpful comments. Not everyone like myself has seen german plates thread in this section. Not all of us in here go into another Mk's forum when we dont even own that car!!!.

Get my point

snipe        /snaɪp/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[snahyp] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, plural snipes, (especially collectively) snipe for 1, 2; verb sniped, snip·ing.
–noun
1.   any of several long-billed game birds of the genera Gallinago (Capella) and Limnocryptes, inhabiting marshy areas, as G. gallinago (common snipe), of Eurasia and North America, having barred and striped white, brown, and black plumage.
2.   any of several other long-billed birds, as some sandpipers.
3.   a shot, usually from a hidden position.

in summary, i am not a snipe as that makes no english literal sense.

      I rest my case

Sooorry phil, glad our back with your extremely non biased form of moderating

And I expressed my views on the subject, then pointed out that is has been covered alot. Serious, and your point is understood, but will by and large be ignored, il continue to go into all sections of the forum as they exist and I do believe use of mk forums is not restricted by which car you own!

If if got the wrong end of the stick, feel free to beat me with it!

complaints to admin to relieve phil of his duties perhaps? or, as far as he knows, i don't own a mk5 so i'm not entitled to an opinion?

it's not so bad he edits my posts but to do so with such disregard for grammar could seriously harm my reputation.

sorry random

Sharpie has said too many things to upset people in here on too many occasions, hense why im moderating his posts.

But dont understand why you both come in here, unless your planning to purchase or genuinley like the Mk5.

Your "friend" on the other hand doesnt like the mk5 and posts negative things constantly.

Sorry if you dont like the way i run things here with my fellow moderator, if you dont like it, the i suggest you also refrain from posting, or

maybe i should come into your forum and slate the Mk2 and see if you like some of it back?

Im not the one thats upsetting fellow Mk5 owners.

at no point was the golf mk5 slated. if you could provide any input into the mk2 section then by all means, i'd like to see it.

on generic issues like german plates, which are not mk specific why should the topic be restricted?

and finally, i tend to use quick links, view new posts to see what's happening across the whole forum in case i miss something. unfortunately, as a result of this, i sometimes find myself commenting in the mk5 section.

But yeah, im an actual fan of all the mk's, I really like the MK5 an cant wait till i can afford one after the MK6 arrives an theres a flood of used ones about!
