Title: ABS Pump problem

I've replaced abs pump with second hand one on my mk3 golf gti but abs light is still staying on, garage said I need to re-programme pump to car I,ve got the code off old pump and garage tried to programme pump in but couldnt, they said that they need password from vw for computer to allow re-programming has anyone got any ideas or advice please would be grateful

Will I have to take it to the vw dealers
