ker-ching!
Thanks very much for that mate, I think I'll be having that if the price stays sensible!
Although all this talk from people running REVO and their turbo's heading south worries me a little!
Thanks again mate

glad to be of service

With regards to the revo and dieing turbos, literally hundreds of people have been running their software on the standard k03 turbo's without a problem for ages.
However, since the software for mine was newly released (and after reading Starry's post) i firmly believe there is a serious error with this new software. I'll keep you posted ;D

check out http://www.mrhoot.com. They supply tuning boxes for loads of diesels, and the one for the PD Golfs is going for ?270. The website design is a bit annoying but I emailed him to ask him a few things, and he was very helpful and knows his stuff. The stock version of the tuning box will up the 150bhp PD to 180bhp and increase the torque from 320nm to 390nm, nice! He also said the box can be returned if to be adjusted, free of charge, if you want the profile set up differently, maybe if you are getting clutch slip from the torque or if you just want more bhp. He wouldn't recommend requesting anything beyond 185bhp unless you don't mind buying new parts to cope with the corresponding internal temprature increases.
I'm seriously considering getting one, ideal for a company car where I can make it magically disappear before it goes in for service!
I think for pounds-per-bhp, this has got to be the best way of doing it.

Just thought I'd follow up on this -
I attended the AMD GolfGTI.co.uk rolling road day on Saturday, with my standard pd 150. I was on about 7th or 8th after a late arrival (muchos beer the night before :-[).
I had been told be several people that the PD's often leave the factory producing more power than the name suggests, with some people getting 165 bhp straight out of the box!
Imagine my surprise then when my totally standard 60k mile example turned out 186bhp and 279 lb ft of torque!!!
Had it just been mine that had been on the rollers I would have suspected over-generous rollers, but based on what everyone else was seeing, it turns out that these are pretty much bang on.
On that basis I don't think that I'm going to bother with a tuning box. Most of them promise only 190bhp without further mods (zorst and filter) and I'm running damn close to that now - I'm certainly not spending ?400+ for 4bhp!!!!

Golf PD 150 - doesn't do exactly what it says on the tin :P
