How easy is it to change the engine mounts??
-
I Can do em in an afternoon but i do have access to a garage and tools.
You will need descent trolley jack and stands, front two easiest rear one often a little bit harder.
I support engine with jack or hoist and do all three after loosening all top side bolts not really that difficult.
Ive done it on all my golfs so far, Dont buy GSF, Europarts in my opinion they dont last like VW or uprated ones

That's great thanks! I might give it a go then

i did the front one in about an hour with very basic tools!! not tried the others though, might have to be a visit to my local garage for that one.

On the 16v, they are going to be a proper pain and quite fiddly! I had to loosen 2 to get the gearbox out, not hard, just fiddly! If you're going to have a go at DIY, just allow loads of time!
