current thred in "cosmetic matters" section. there is a lad who works with carbon fiber and said he can wrapp the front badge in cf for 20 quid, il be getting mine done.
-
Id like to see one done first, but if all goes to plan then I would definitely be interested! Cheers Joe!
-
Good work joe keep us posted.
-
yeh, be good to see one first, so maybe Joe can take it for the team!? lol
otherwise, bargain of the century!
-
....If it's done well with good quality CF, it certainly will be the bargain of the century!
-
i have pm'd the fella
-
....As everyone knows, I've already got mine both front and rear (I think I paid over 20 squid just in import taxes for the rear!!), but if I was buying now from this guy I would want to see a sample or, at the very least, good quality close-up photos (better than just snaps on a mobile phone).
Does this fella know exactly what the Mk5 badge is like to be able to quote £20?

im the fella from the previous post,
some quick replies,
No its not "top quality carbon fiber" its a WRAP, which is your OEM part covered in CF Material & Laquered to give a fully CF Effect (You wouldnt tell the difference without removing and seeing the back!)
And as for knowing the badge other than the curved face its no different to my mk3 badge. as long as its got holes from front to back to "loose" the lines in then yeah i could imagine it would be easily done.
Ive just ordered some more supplies todo my parts and with offcuts il do a badge and post a piccy up if it goes ok, if not hopefully my optimism wont be miss-judged i will refuse any business if i dont feel i can give a good job.

cool, cheers mate. i think thats what the ones from carbon dynamics are the same....as in just a wrapp., so should be simular, once you have had a go then post pics and we shall go from there.

The MK5 badge is also in two piece's ( I've had mine apart ), Would you have to part them to wrap the badge itself or would you just cover the whole thing?
