Title: What oil for 16v GTI?
Post by: greencode on 18 September 2008, 09:46
Can someone please let me know the grade of oil I should get for a GTI 16V? In the Haynes manual it's not specific and says either 5W-30 and 10W-40 but then it also mentions 20W-50 so I'm a bit confused!

Any help would be much appreciated as I just want to buy some so I can keep the levels topped up.

A decent 10/40 semi synthetic will be ideal......dont use 20/50 as its too thick for the vw breather system
