Title: sticky clutch pedal
Post by: lordbigsack on 17 September 2008, 16:36
hi, not V mechanically minded so bear with me.  My clutch pedal seems a bit sticky/lumpy when trying to release the clutch slowly.  Causing much amusement to the missus at my lack of clutch control.

What could be causing this?  is it simply the cable needs replacing or is it a sign of the clutch starting to go?

TIA

Replace the clutch cable with a manual adjustable one I had to do the same.

Sure this is too late, but anyway had similar prob, just for reference it was the plate the push rod made contact with and pushrod itself (clutch plate end) it had some how created a small dimple of wear just off the centre of the plate and the push rod was worn on the end (still is) i replaced everything but the pushrod and no joy, well ,there was but only for a while until the worn pushrod (which i still did not replace) i assume has worn the new plate, i think me pushrod maybe slightly bent causing this prob to come back, take the plate off the end of the gearbox and pull out the rod (check for wear)
