Title: MK2 GOLF SQUEALING
Post by: CHRIS_H on 13 May 2004, 08:14
Hi everyone,
I have a 1991 mk2 8v golf and when driving at low speed a screeching noise seems to be coming from front right hand side of the car, could this be a bearing? any thoughts amyone?

When does it do it? All the time/first thing in the morning?

Sounds like a alternator belt to me .... nice and simple to fix, but don't ignore it or you'll kill your battery !

go down a quiet road,

when you hear a squeel, shake the steering to see if the noise differs maybe?
