Hi everyone,
I have a 1991 mk2 8v golf and when driving at low speed a screeching noise seems to be coming from front right hand side of the car, could this be a bearing? any thoughts amyone?
-
When does it do it? All the time/first thing in the morning?
-
Sounds like a alternator belt to me .... nice and simple to fix, but don't ignore it or you'll kill your battery !
-
indeedy! look it up in the haynes manual
-
possibly the alternator belt, but i replaced it recently, but this was a pattern part though
-
go down a quiet road,
when you hear a squeel, shake the steering to see if the noise differs maybe?
-
maybe the belt wasnt tightend enough??? mine was making a wierd noise till it was tightend
