Title: New MK2 8v GTI Owner
Post by: SteveP on 16 September 2008, 20:50
Evening all,

I thought I should drop in and say hello to you all as I think I am going to be needing your help with my new project over the coming months

Nearly a week ago I picked up my first MK2, it's an 91 8v in need a of fair bit of TLC and couple of minor mechnical and electrical issues.

Here's a quick pic

Not 100% sure what to do with it but, probably going to stay OEM (ish) with some BBS RA's and a drop on the suspension to start with.

Thanks.

It's pretty solid but does have some rust on both rear arches and on the tail gate, so these are the first jobs to tackle.

First mod should be buying some good quality black shoe polish and applying a few coats to all the black exterior plastics. It's amazing how much fresher the car looks once you do this. Costs less than a fiver too.

Enjoy it. 5 door 8v red GTIs are the best cars in the world, bar none.
