Yes indeed the exterior wheel arches on the mk3 look very nice, but what would you think about Carbon Fiber ones?
Im interested in building a set of C/F Wrapped Arches for my mk3, Would anybody else be interested in these? it can be done so i could get hold of a set from a breaker, do them then when there ordered i could do a swap-out (Delivery & Collection) so then i can wrap yours for another sale.
What would be your views on this idea? if the pricing was rite? ive done loads of my interior panels and im now doing the centers in my Aleseo alloys ;)

Hmm I'm not too sure fella!
Might be worth trying it on a single arch to see what the outcome is then post a few pics of that? So we could get a better idea.
The downside i suppose is that it may look odd with the sidestrips and the bits on the bumpers still being black??

Well on my one im planning on wrapping a full set of arches, skirts, door strips and the bumper tops.
I suppose it wouldnt look too daft if the bumpers were the later colour coded ones.
I'l post up some pics when its finished as so far ive decided on mine its going to have the listed below in CF/
Door Handles
Boot Strip
Mirrors (The inners with the colour coded backing)
Arches
Side Skirts
Bumper Tops
Door Strips
and possibly some more too when im finished :P

Sounds good man.. get some pics up when your done

are you doing this youself?? i take it ur pritty handy working with carbon fiber, out of interest could you make other things? like interior trimmings?
-
i could its very hard for example id charge about £150 for something like a heater vent or a dial surround, HOWEVER
i can WRAP anything in carbon fiber, which looks 100% Real as in a sense it is, and the best part is, underneath is still an OEM part and therfore fits perfectly ;)
I've built a few things of 100% C/F and its not an easy task however a "wrap" to the human eye is the real deal theres no way of telling unless you literally remove the trim and see the OEM backing!
Have something in mind? send me a pic (in this thread or PM) and il quote you.

i would be well tempted if you could wrap a front bumper splitter!

I'm liking the sound of the wing mirrors.. but i dunno!

pics of your handy work needed

Front VW badge!!?? how much??
i could generate some interest with this in the mk5 section as i know alot of people would want a cf vw badge

Nice idea Dan...
Im also going to wrap my VR6 Splitter and the base of my rear bumper :)
Unfortionatly i dont have any pics of past work ive only done 2 or 3 little things for people and ironicly... ive sold the only car i did something for me in!
the front VW badge, is it the same as the mk3? if so ive done one and there reletively easy todo, id probably charge ABOUT £20 inc P&P + the cost of the badge or just the figure if you supply the badge (but run the risk of getting a shabby badge back if it doesnt work out!!!)
