how did you do that? set up a slide show or something?
-
Did it in iMovie, it's a bit weak really. Next show I'm gonna take my camcorder and mix it up with stills and moving stuff.

you cant take movie on the canon? one less bit of kit to lumber about...
i take video on my little compact camera and have to say it is very good.
never heard of imovie... take it thats an apple thing?
-
Yeah I've got a Sony camcorder (Old Digi8 tape one though), I'd only use for a few rolling scenes and soem other bits then leave it in the car during the actual show.
Yeah iMovie is an apple thingg.

what camera you got Horney?

iMovie is apple's version of Windows Movie maker. The new iMovie is meant to be good.

Horney's got a Canon 400D IIRC. It's a DSLR (proper camera) which is why it doesn't do video.
I've got one too, just with less flashy accessories (and skill). The photo results from them vs compacts are like night and day - about the only thing I use my compacts for now are workshop pictures and viedo - the Canon just kicks them into a cocked hat.
We've got iMovie at home. It is very easy to use and re-samples things down to a reasonable size off camera-grabbed videos very nicely.
It's the only thing I've found the Mac is actually better at so far.
-
Spot on Tom it's a 400D they can't do video as SLRs have a mirror between the sensor and the lens to allow you to look through the viewfinder which is also why most DSLR don't have live view on the screen. The latest ones do but most photographers argree that while useful for low angle shots it's more of a gimick to get compact users to switch. Live view on DSLR's is still in it's infancy and I know most reviews complain the auto focusĀ is slow and not very accurate due to the technology used.
I could go on but it would get boring! In a nut shell if you want decent photos buy a decent camera if you want decent video footage buy a decent camcorder if you want reasonable photos and videos buy a compact.
