Title: Back wheels have vertical movemetn
Post by: greenhornet on 12 May 2004, 21:02
Hello all.

My back wheels have vertical movement. From looking at the car from behind, the wheels are NOT vertical but angled from the top down to the bottom. Similar to how ralley car wheels are. I don't think the wheels bearings are at fault as there is no horizontal movement. Any ideas on possible faults? I'm taking the wife to Sky in June over a 3 hour drive so need to get this sorted asap.

Thanks.

Green.

they should have a small amount of camber. it helps corner better.

Thanks dizzie, but my wheels give slight movement. I don't think this should happen.

Any other ideas?

if the play is at the top the bush at the top of the shock could be worn and will probably fall all over the floor if you remove the shock.

if there's play at the bottom it could be rear beam play. Both sides will move if it's the rear beam as they are one. :)
