im having troble findinf and earth fro my amp what are people useing as there earth
-
On one of the bolts on your rear lights is a good earthing point. Just run the cable along the side undo the nut put the earth lead on then redo up the nut.
-
i got mine going to one of the nuts under the rear seats.
-
use a seat belt bolt
do not to the rear light as it is not a very strong point to connect to as the bolt in the light is only held in on plastic and the metal is not particularly thick
i have had lots of customers come to me saying their amp keeps cutting out and every tgime it has been a bad earth
when fitting your earth make sure it is rubbed down to bare metal and bolted down securely

use a seat belt bolt
Exactly what I was going to say
-
my earth for my amp is the bolt for the seat belts under the back seat thats the best place for it but try not to make the earth more than 12inches long ,but then its only the best place to earth it if your putting the amp on the back of the back seat or on the floor near the back seat but if you were thinking of puttin it on one of the sides use the bolt that holds the seat belt roller fingy under the shelf suports hope wot i said makes some sense.ian

Same here, no problems yet!

on my mk2 it's earthed to the seatbelt bolt behind the nearside boot speaker trim and in my mk3 i earthed it to one of the screws for the fuel pump access cover
