The car is running on Shell V Power (which it has done since birth 13k miles ago). I was expecting mid 240's. Engine is completly stock. Only mod is Haldex GenII Controller which was set in Sport mode for the runs (more even 50/50 split). I spoke for several minutes about the figure with the engineer saying I was expecting no more than 250 HP. They checked all the temps/data etc… and confirmed everything was normal. He said it was a nice change to have someone pleased with the result. Apparently most customers expect the figures to be higher than they are which he puts down to performance claims from various aftermarket tuners.

Good figures there Davefish!! Where was the remap done and by who?
-
-
nice bit of v6 power vrooooooooooooooooom!

read the part where he says "Engine is completly stock"....
-
btw love that number plate.
-
Nice figures, sits back and waits for someone to rubbish that RR LOL
-
v6 for fooks sakeeee!
-
dyno dynamics are very acurate , they are the same at Jkm Engineering Portsmouth. Torque figure around 250. Drugs test needed!!!.
Nice stats their Dave. Yes agree with statement reference over hyped remapped performance claims from various aftermarket tuners, and the
acuracy and Temp readings on some graphs.
Your torque curve though shows that the R32 needs abit more shove as it drops away from 3000rpm onwards.
Also love your choice of numbers up front!, and you have a healthy engine their.

Ahh yes. Sorry must be getting it confused with someone else from over on R32oc..

Thanks for the comments guys. I was shocked as the run figures were coming up on the monitor. All runs were 260 or higher. Well chuffed ;-)
-
I'd be well chuffed too
to be honest if it was anything other than a dynodynamics road I would be calling them into question too
The torque figures do seem turbo like  , sticks 2 fingers to us ED30 guys
Rev limit on R32 is 6500rpm?
Anyways I'd be happy and your car seems very healthy.
-
Hehe John. I still don't think there would be anything in it rolling in gear. I loose 22-24% through AWD transmission I think. Rev limit is 6900 untill I get it mapped ;-)
-
so if you minus out 22-24%, does that mean you have 240 actual wheel hp?
-
so if you minus out 22-24%, does that mean you have 240 actual wheel hp?
No, the dyno calculates all that for you, and the figure, whilst measured at the roadwheels, is really meant to be a "corrected" flywheel horsepower.
-
stick my name down for the RR day Dave.. seem to have lost the thread on r32oc
-
You usually get 2 figures, whp and a flywheel, although as TT says this is a calculated figure and different RR's use different methods for calculating it. This is 1 of the many reasons why there are big differences from RR to RR.
-

No, it will be pretty much bang on 200hp.
-
jesus, thats a hell of a transmission loss if thats flywheel horsepower.

Not really - that is about the ball park percentage figure for four wheel drive motors. :nerd:
However, thinking a little more on this, how do they make allowances for the Haldex system, which can go from 2wd to 4wd - and therefore the calculations should really be on a variable scale! :undecided:

You have overstepped the mark of complexity lol. No idea. Maybe I should use 2wd losses for wheel power ;-)
Ps. Topher, I've put you on an updated list chap.

Looks like I will be representing the Ed30 crew at this RR day guys.. Dyno Dynamics rollers too.. :smug:
Should be interesting to see..

If there is a limit on numbers then R32OC peeps will take preference but anyone on here is more than welcome to join in. There may be a bit of ribbing between the forums occasionally but if we're honest, the GTI and R32 are both great cars and very similar ;-)
-
Be good to compare the 2 on the day. Plus really interested to see what mine makes on the DD rollers..

Just thought id pass this on to you ben, my mate whos got the same spec ed30 dsg as you, with revo stage1 remap and standard zorst to 300bhp approx, has just come back from the german autobahns, and was hitting a top speed of 171 mph!!!!, and was regually flashing Porshe's to get outa the way!!!. (give 10% speedo inacuracy)
Im not sure whether youve been over there to clock a top speed yet, but thought id pass that on.

Ha... Not done that in mine yet, as wouldn't entertain them speeds over here obviously. Was meant to be going to Nurburgring end of this month but it's all fell through, so will have to have a go next year maybe..
But i've seen vids of mapped ED30's doing the clock... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8Lwc8eB9lHQ
Oh and mine has Milltek as well remember Phil, you should know, you let me have it just about..
Sounds like your mate had fun anyway..
-
can everyone stop blooming posting youtube clips im never going to sell any beer!
-
my god, this is the reason to get dsg!

Nice isn't it?.. Mine's louder than that though.. Will do a vid at some point...
-
171!!!!
Feel sorry for thos eguys in BMW's that are restricted to 155!

He's actually serving a 6 month ban and had his ed30 for sale for a time. His dad was the one who borrowed the car to take it on holiday to germany and was the one who'd clocked up that speed.
