Hey Guys & Gals,
according to my insurance broker i have to fit a Cat 1 alarm. What alarm should i fit? What have you guys got? been looking on loads of websites but they all bum up they're own product (obviously). Would be good to hear from the people that actually use the car/alarm.
Cheers

Mine's got an original alarm ("Logic" or something like that) and its a bit old skool if you know what I mean. Personally if I ever had to upgrade I would probably get a Toad alarm as I've been well impressed by a mates system - not too showy, but does the job well.
-
its not just the alarm that matters but the fitter... Your best to ask locally and see if any body has had issues with a local fitter. (I know one clifford fitter that is crap!! hence clifford having a bad rep round my area!!)
oh yeah Toad are good systems... mines a few years old but still working perfect.

Cheers folks, that was quick,
I was reccomended a toad alarm at a not bad price, I think? It's the AI606 or something? Got a good auto electrician so that's not a problem.

Just make sure he can certify the fitting to thatcham standrds as its the fitters certificate that your insurance will want

Cool,
i didn't know that. Could've been a problem there!

Expect that certificate to cost you £££'s

I'm going to get a Toad AI606 when I've saved up. There are plenty of companies doing them on Ebay for around the £210 ish with nationwide fitting so you get the all important certificate too.
Some of them even offer the alarm only for £100 odd and claim to give you a certificate too but don't know how that works.
