hey ive been after a new speedo since i brought my golf gti mk3 about 6 months back as the right hand display is completely broken, i have found a few places that do them and they want 40 quid plus 5 quid postage for one from the 2.0 gti model but only 16 for the one from the golf 1.8. i was wondering as they both display 140 on the clock whiether or not they would work on my golf as i could make a nice little saving if thats the case.
cheers, your help will be apriecated :)

Your gti will have an mfa computer display, that the 1.8 dosen't. And due to the the connector is different! Try ebaa as I've had several sets for about £15-20

thanks for clearing that up for me. Yeah thats where it is, i just wanted one that was fairly close to my current milage (82k) and hes found one thats done 80. i just dont wanna buy one on like 130k if i can help it. i'll keep looking thanks.

you can get the mileage adjusted....mine cost £15 to reset them to show the correct mileage

15 is well cheep for it correcting, mine was 30 notes here in leeds, that was cheepest i could find, most wanted 40 plus
as for clocks look to pay 20quid ish

yeah ive been quoted 40 quid to get it corrected and thats just not worth it might as well just buy them straight off with only 2k difference. 15 quids well cheap, im trying to get him down to 40 quid posted but he doesnt seem to want to budge as he said that golf gtis cost him a fair amount to buy.
off topic i know but does anyone know how to replace interior door handles as i have some new ones and was wondering if the door card was needed to be removed in order to install them? just ordered a haynes manual, it may be in there but i've got the day off and am pretty eager to get them installed today and cant find anything on good old google
cheers

forget about that question, i relised that the door handle cover handle just popped out with a screw driver prizing them off so there fitted :) happy days!
