Hey folks
Finally pick up my baby tonight, 57 diamond black gt sport tdi, with tinted rears and Qs factory done. First trip will be to the stealers to order my honeycomb grill but keep my gt badge on. been reading lost of posts lately and found a diy on how to change grill etc but i'll be dammed if i can find it again any ideas?
Is it just me or is there not a lot of aftermarket stuff out thet for the mk5.
a list of what i need to buy.
1.brushed facia forcentre dash, i'm told the r32 has this, is that correct and any ideas where to get?
2. metal pedals
3. cruise control , i know it's cheap for the stalf . is it easy to enable yourself via vagcom which i'm going to buy?
4. centre arm rest in the gray ,not bothered about ipod bits as i'm going to buy double din touchy sreen thing.
5. painted rear valance
6. set of 18 inch rims not decided which ones but that will be around feb time.
i've read the thread about cf badges, my mate runs a small internet company lambodoors.co.uk and he gets loads of cf done for his skyline custom stuff etc etc i spoke quickly to him about this and he said the badges would be no prob to do, no price as of yet.
i am going to be working away for 4 months in two weeks time so i cannot organise this for the forum however if there is someone who will be willing to get name for group, then pse pass on your email and i will give it to him.
THANKS AGAIN

Enjoy the car. For £10k sounds like a steal. :smug:
Remember with any engine performace upgrades, do consider limitations of tyres, brakes and suspension at high speeds/cornering etc...
17" rims giver better ride and as a mag tested, faster round the track..
From what I've read cruise is a £125 fitted by VW. If doing yourself, need VCDS to activate it. Some owners have said a wire needs to be run as well. Not sure from where to where..

How can you afford a GTI at 21/22? Thats quality.
(in no way was that meant to be rude, im just going by when I was 21 there was no way I could afford the latest Golf let alone a GTI). Fair play to you lads though.
Yours sincerely
Mr Jealous (31 Yr Old)
-
Same as Fantazia92. I'm 30 and I still can't afford one!

I am 42, and maturely thinking about settling down! Not quite yet, but the day is coming, or rather the hearing is going!
So Ruggermad is it here? And pics?
-
OOOHHHHH YES my baby is here. and not even had it 12 hours and its at the stealers, bonnet catch, and something to do with front wheel, it's already booked in for the front tints on tues and goind to order the gti front grill this morn.
got a few ques though , the mfd i really want to change the door open thing as pressing it twice will do my nut in, reading thriugh the manual it says i should be able to do it through the mfd however i can only seem to access trip mpg winter speed settings, and not conveniance mode like the book said , it looks the the mfd is split in two. if that helps anybody.
also def decided i need new wheels i parked next to a r32 today and it looked like mines was a family car, it took the excitment out of a new car a bit..
also had a quick peek inside the r32 i was under the impression that the centre console up to inc the vent at top was silver, which i really want for the gt, but it looked grey.
i will post some pics after trues when front tint is done..

ref my above post i think i might mean the highline computer am i right or wrong? and can i change the setting for the door opening and footwellights etc on a 07 golf gt sport tdi
-
If your looking for that much plastic/silver you shold have bought an astra :lipsrsealed:

Sounds like you have the midline computer (display uses the lower half of the area between the speedo & rev counter). I don't believe you can adjust settings such as door locking/winter tyres/footwell lights etc. however you could do the same with a VAG-COM.

What the man says is correct. I too have the midline (bought the car 2nd hand) and my dealer changed the settings via vagcom to single press full opening, and the anti hijack locking (the doors lock automatically when you set off and unlock when you remove the key, or press the button on the door)
Enjoy the car......

get the beeeeeep enabled aswell
-
ah well , anybody know anyone in dundee with vagcom??? need a wee favour/
-
I have all those features enabled
I must agree though, the twin plipping of the key to open all the doors used to drive me nuts. SWMBO was always trying to open the door before I'd double plipped or forgot to double plip!
