hey everyone, ive just been offered some cash for the front and rear windows and sunroof from the golf that im breaking, thing is,ive never took any glass out before and the haynes manual is warning me against it!! anybody know how i remove these or if it really is just a job for the proffesionals? thanks!

2 minute job mate
take the door panel off and find the 2 10mm bolts which hold the glass in.Undo them and pull it up.
the rears you will have to take the quarter window bar out to get the window out but its only a pozi screw inside the rubber at the top of the door
As for the sunrrof probably best to pull the roof liing down and remove it complete with rails etc

oh sorry, the front and rears are bonded in. It would be mega hard to get them out without bustin them

I did try to do this once... I used a hot knife (dont laugh) I heated the knife up and pushed it in to melt through the seal... worked well untill i got to the bottom... then i had to prise it apart and snap goes the windscreen.

Yea i asked my local windscreen fitter to take it out of my old one and put it in my new one but he said he would need a heated wire and even then its dodgy so he said rarther tan spend £60 on labour trying and failing just spend £95 for a new one fitted
