Title: turbo conversion for mk2 16v

Hi all, i'm thinking of adding a turbo to my mk2 ! does anyone have any pointers, advice, tales of woe ? Any tips warmly welcomed !

You could go down the turbo techics conversion route, which is a bolt on option for the 16V.  Alternatively you could go for a 20 valve turbo conversion from a Mk4 Golf/Audi A3/Leon/TT.

All depends on how much you've got to spend and how much power you want.

You can get more and reliable power from turboing a 2.0 16v than a 20v BUT it can be more expensive despite the initial outlay involved in fitting a 20v. THere's a guy on the Rado forum running close to 500bhp on a 9a 2.0 16v turbo.
