Title: treating the old girl
Post by: cняis on 09 September 2008, 23:45
so now that i work for a car parts distrubutor with their own workshop/MOT bay, the Golf is currently on the ramps with the following being done:

2 new tyres (plus camber, tracking and alignment)
new oil pump and sump gasket (plus oil & filter)
new front top mounts (the NSF top mount bearing had collapsed and had gouged the slotted nut badly!)
new front discs and pads
adjust rear wheel bearings

this is on top of a new clutch/clutch cable/inner CV boot kits last month  :lipsrsealed:

cant wait to get it back, hopefully it will go around corners properly again!

for anyone that's interested, the steering was VERY stiff and notchy at low speeds and sometimes i'd hear a loud 'twang' noise from the NSF strut (strut not moving in the top mount properly). just a thought if anybody is worried about crappy steering!
