Thinking of buying one of these and was wondering what you guys thought of them.
How fast do they go (flat out, on straight)
Hows the pull off?
Many problems with 'em?
Spacious?
ETC
Just after some general views really.
Thanks guys!

Have a look on the Parkers web site www.parkers.com (i think)
That will give you all the info about the car if you look at the review page.
They won't be quick as its a heavy car, 95 - 105 top end I would have thought.
Try and go for a bigger engine, if you can.

i wouldnt trust my 1994 1.4 to go fast, although I'm not the type to go fast. I'm tempted to say 90 at a push haha
Just as spacious as any other mk3, quite a lot of room inside
I've not had any major problems with mine, the only 1's i've had have been self inflicted
I like the car, but many wont because it's by no means nippy or sporty etc.
If you're after quick acceleration/top speed, don't buy this car.

I can tell by these 2 questions a 1.4 will dissapoint!! the mk3 is heavy so compared to a saxo etc the golf is really slow!!

Flat out speed is nothing without control.
If your going with a 1.4 give it some simple mods i.e. airfilter, decent exhaust [don't forget a cambelt if you're going to be giving it plenty of revs everywhere  ] but then but some dosh into the brakes and handling. Any car can be quick but how it goes around corners on the twisty stuff can soon embarrass the GTI crew if set up right
