Title: MK4 Anniversary buying advise?
Post by: Tara on 08 September 2008, 17:15
Hello,
I am thinking about buying a 02 GT TDI Anniversary model and just wanted to know what to look out for?
I think i heard that the Front lights are darker but how would you tell without quoting the obvious  and also that the steering wheel and gear knob are different but how and is there anything else? any help tips would be grateful and i know its a Golf forum but what are realistic prices in different types of cases from Good condition 80/90k miles to mint 40/50k examples?
Sorry for all the ? :embarassed:

The anni lights are black inside.  Also, I believe the gear stick is a funky GTI golf ball kind of shape.  If it's an anni you'll also have the black and red recaro seats inside :)

There are quite a few "misrepresented" Anni's around at the moment!

Key things to look for on the inside include

Brushed alu trim
Black headliner
Sport clocks
Red trimmed mats
Number plaque on fusebox lid
Golf ball gear knob
Perforated leather steering wheel, gear gaiter and handbrake
GTI foils on the sills

And outside.....

Big red brakes
stubby mirrors
painted front and rear valances, sideskirts and spoiler without notch
Black headlights
GTI badge in grill
BBS RC rims, ball burnished (will be scabby no doubt or replaced with sparkle silver)
Only available in Black, Silver or Red!

Plus you don't get 5 door ones or any engine apart from 1.8T (180bhp) or 1.9PD (150bhp)

engine codes are AUQ for the 1.8T and ARL for the 150 TDI just in case someone has made an Anni clone

You know the amount it'd cost to clone an anni, you wouldn't think they'd actually make any money from doing it :)

depends if the items have been bought or stolen. And whether they're genuine or not..

Or they could have done it as there own ride and now they've come to sell it so they pass it off as an Anni,
