Well I have seen on here before about cleaning the throtle body - I have always looked at mine and thought thast there was no point.
This weekend I did actually do it - my god what a diffence the running of the car. If you have'nt done this then it is well worth a go if you have'nt done it in a while.....

I have been thinking about cleaning my 16V Throttle body recently. Did you take it off the engine to clean it ,or leave it in situ, and did you use anything like an old toothbrush to help the cleaner work its magic?

thinking about doin mine too , any special cleaner to be used ?
is there a guide for this procedure anywere?
-

I cleaned it in situ - infact prob could have done a better job. I cleaned it with a cloth and some Auto Glym clean machine (think that is what it is called) the amount of crud I got out of there was incredible..
I will give it another go - not sure if you can take the TB off of a valver but I will look though.
The car now idles much better - infact this morning on the way into work I thought the car had stalled because I could not feel it ruinning (could'nt here it coz the stereo was too loud )

All you need is some kitchen towel or a rag and some carb cleaner.
