Title: Car brake cleaner
Post by: bobbarley on 08 September 2008, 10:08
Can anyone recommend some brake cleaner to get my callipers and carriers clean before I paint them?

Or will any old cleaner do?

Gotta say I tried Wonder Wheels etc etc. But the best in my opinion is either Meguiars Hot Rims or.....wait for it.....Tesco own brand. For £2 it's bloody great stuff, no messing, and clears all the brake dust and staining dead easy - try it - honestly! I use it on my Volvo T4 rims, and they do get some hammer

I use simple alloy wheel cleaner and then ruff them up with wet and dry....and I've only painted them once in 2 years. (oh and I used normal car spray paint....)
