Hi all,
For the past 30 mins I have been outside trying to fit my new side lights (whiter light ones). Am I being stupid or does the Golf manual only show sidelight fitment for golfs with standard headlights ie not xenons. In the mainbeam cone there is only the one blub, the manual states the sidelight should be there too but it is not.
Under the bonnet I seem to have located
- the big xenon compartment - i assumed to leave that alone
- the smallest compartment - for the turn signal light
- the middle sized one - is the main beam.
How do I change my sidelight which fills the lower down horizontal front cluster on the GTI with xenons? Ie from the outside the bulb seems to be located below all the other lights. Help! :undecided:
(I did try to search the forum already but no joy) Thanks all.

I did try to replace my sidelights with LED ones once and remembered that there isn't much room for a screwdriver to pry out the fitment. I just pulled gently on the wires and eventually they came out. ( Don't hold me responsible if the wires break  )

Thats good to know because thats what ill be doing ASAP! Also changing the puddle lights to something whiter!

I tried using fingers only, and a gentle tug on wires. Got no where.
Then used a very small pair of pliers holding onto the plastic bulb holder portion of the lamps, taking care not to crimp the wires.
Took a min or so to change both sides.

Pliers for me too - although when I did mine the indicator bulb went into the headlight which took me an age to get back out
