Title: HELP : How do I remove interior boot trim?
Post by: Neil-MkVGTI on 06 September 2008, 11:40

Sorry guys, prob an easy question but I've searched here and can't find the answer.

I'm replacing my rear lights with R32 ones and trying to remove the interior trim on the hatch.  Downloaded the free manuals but all refer to 'repair manual 70' which I can't locate on teh site or anywhere else.

I've removed the screws inside the two 'pull down' handles but can't work out where best to then pull hard without breaking something.

Hmmm - just checked, and there are no new online manuals, yet!  :undecided:

Have you tried the Haynes Book of Lies Workshop Manual for the Mk5 Golf?

If you get no joy, post again, and I'll see if I can find my copy.  :embarassed:

Neil you dont have to take any trim off there is a little section that just pops out next to the pull down handle. Then all you need is a small 10 mil spanner for the 2 nuts its a 10 minute job max.  :smug:

Cheers both.  Got it done.

It was a fiddly getting at the furthest nut through the pop out sections (and putting it back on!) - there seemed to be part of the interior trim in the way.  Anyway done now - and new lights do look much better.

Now how do you get the rear bumper off

No probs TT - as you've read, considering options for replacing rear bottom half of bumper.
