Title: 5 door conversion
Post by: karlos_82 on 10 May 2004, 20:53
Hi,

Has anyone ever converted a 5 door golf mk2 gti to a 3 door. Is it possible? Any input would be appreciated.

it is possible, and you'd be the first as normal people just buy a 3dr. :)

I think you just weld the back doors up. Seen a sierra cossie lookalike like it and it looked sh!t  ::)

Doing this would cause problems in rear access, as 2/3 door cars have longer doors to enable easier rear entry. Not a big problem unless you always carry rear passengers, in which case the safety aspect in a crash comes into play.

if u want that sort of look why dont u remove the handles fill in the recess?? that way rear doors can still be opened from inside??
or just get a three door to start with
