Title: Bulbs for car GTI mk3
Post by: golfwannabe on 05 September 2008, 20:28
Hi,

After some nice white side lights (which will be legal)

Want a good make that will last and look good against the yellow headlights.

Need them to be a straight swap too.

What are peeps recommendations and what is the fitting type?

I know there are topics on this but I'm totally confused.com   :undecided:

cheers

The only way you can get a side light to glow white is by using a LED because you cant get enough currnet running threw the small wedge bulb.. but the LED will be illegal.

Although i have them in mine from ultraleds and they passed an MOT dont know if that helps with anythin

Buy a HID Upgrade Kit,

i got mine installed for about £120, which included the part, i have the ICE Blue headlights along with the sidelights and full beam.

This was done in bradford but im sure u can pickup what you need on ebay for about £70, and you can DIY this job very easy!

They add the awsome look like the range rovers and merc and that, good cheap upgrade and Lots of extra visability

Yep buy a HID kit off ebay, very easy to fit.  You will need a H1 kit.  Either go for 6000k or 8000k.

I have an 8000k in my new Accord and i paid £35 delivered for it and i swear it looks factory fit - but that might be down to projector lens.

I think the MK3 have reflector lens but they will still look good.

I've just bought a 6000k H7 kit for my dad's Primera for £26.48 on Buy It Now.

Just search for H1 HID Kit you will see thousands of listings.

as an answer to your original question...look for philips vision bulbs and they are direct fit replacements with a much brighter clearer colour
