Title: Another very happy revo/quattronics customer
Post by: luca on 05 September 2008, 10:28
Had revo stage one done yesterday on my ediution 30. First impression is woooooooooooooooowwww!!!!. The car has been turned into an absolute animal. Car is just as driveable as before, but is just waaay faster .
Had the map done at quattronics near lincoln. Cant recommend their service enough, as soon as i arrived the kettle was on and the car was taken out with the laptop plugged in to make sure there were no existing faults with the car in stock form. Car was back within 10mins and everything was running perfect . Corey and chris then uploaded the stage one map, he ran it as the same settings as bens, cant remember what he has.
Again took it out with me in the car and made sure everything was running perfectly with the car. He then let me drive to see what i thought. I put my foot down and suddenly a loud hiss came from the engine and power felt less than before, me and corey said at the same time, a boost pipe must be loose/off.
Immediately took the car back and one if the pipes from the inlet manifold had come undone. Corey rectified the problem within 5minutes and took the car out again.
Everything running perfectly and he was surprised how well the car boosted and how long it could hold it.
Now for the price.
Quattronics were running an offer of 10% off any work done if booked in before the end of august so the map cost me £527 iirc.
Revo have a new offer which started at the beginning of sept, which is if you have a revo remap done you can have the select box for £49+vat and the select plus for £99+vat.
I went for the select plus and revo stage 1 so total cost was around £640. The remap is worth every penny, just need the roads to dry up now as in the wet it get very lively

Its a deal from revo. Its open to anyone who has a remap done this month i think.
So when you have had the map you contact revo direct for the select/select plus deal

....If you have the Revo trial loaded, it's very important that you complete ALL the time period given by Revo so that the trial map wipes itself off your ECU. Otherwise you'll get future software conflicts. I know this first-hand directly from Revo themselves.

is it not just 6 hours of driving, then once you have driven for 6 hours then it wipes, how exactly would you not use it all?? drive for 5 and a half hours then never drive the car again??

I had it weeks ago, and very quickly used up all my 5 hours driving time....at least it seemed much quicker than 5 hours mind you.....

....You would be surprised how many people drive for say 4 hours and then decide to have the full remap before the trial wipes after the 5 hours.

Couldnt be happier witht he map . Spoke to revo today who are sending me the select plus. They gave me a few options to use for the other presets so i went for an agressive boost map and a poor fuel grade map. Can alter them whenever though.

So how exactly does the select unit work? Do you just plug it in when required and select the setting and then unplug it?
I'm pretty much commited to getting the REVO remap and will probably go to Corten-Miller who are my local tuners, they are more expensive than the majority of the dealers i have seen but RR both before and after which i think is quite cool.

So standard remap or the switch??

....Yes - Ignition Off > Plug In as preselected > Ignition On (but NOT engine!) > Beeps > Ignition Off > Remove > Ignition On and start engine as normal. The box also has an anti-theft immobilising option.

Gotcha, so i just need to decide on wether its worth it now....choices choices eh?
Title: Re: Another very happy revo/quattronics customer
Post by: RedRobin on 06 September 2008, 16:02
....Personally I daren't muck about with the settings - I prefer to leave that to the experts. But I got one so I could switch to stock for my VW dealer (not secret - He knows and approves) and for the immobiliser.

One thing to note is when the trial expires you then run stock settings - the code still exists on the ECU.  Just save yourself 2 trips and get it done - dont they offer a money back for so many days if your not happy anyway ..

Come on Steve - £585 is not a lot for a decent map on a £20+ car ...

Best make me his friend for life then as we custom manufacture our own exhausts for our customers car (before anybody asks we don't do Chav). One project we are doing at present is a full race system for a RS6 (4" downpipes and 3.5" twin box system) so we are very well set up to make whatever you require (but nothing Chav though).
Thanks guys for the warm welcome.
Ben, I'll catch up with you tomorrow regarding your select switch, I should be having the day off as it is my wedding anniversary today and the wife is standing over me as I write this tapping her toes saying we should be out for the day.

Happy anniversary corey. Got to say the RS6 corey has is a real machine, and the things he will be doing to his audi quattro will be insane .
Got the select plus today and kyle at revo has already set the presets for me. I have the preset that you set me, then i have a poor fuel preset which i will probably use in winter (still using superunleaded) as the boost isnt as high so should help control wheel spin a little
Keith has also done me an agressive boost map which should be fun but i will only use that on a nice cold day and not for prolonged periods
