HI, BOUGHT MY GOLF A FEW MONTHS AGO AND WITH IT BECOMING DARK NIGHTS HAVE JUST REALISED THE INTERIOR LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON WHEN OPENING THE DRIVERS DOOR? ANY OTHER DOOR THAT I OPEN IT WILL THEN COME ON WHICH SOUNDS ABIT WEIRD! THE INSIDE DOOR CARD LIGHTS DO THE EXACT SAME WHICH TO MY KNOWLEDGE ARE ALL APRT OF THE SAME WIRING I GUESS. HAS ANYONE GOT AN ANSWER AS I'M STUCK AS TO WHERE TO START LOOKING? CHEERS

These can usually be repaired if you can work a soldering iron - there is a good how-to on vwvortex :wink:

I just spent all day mending mine. My car didn't recognise the door being opened so puddle light and courtesy light didn't work and it didn't beep if I left my lights on. I didn't have the common fault of cracked soldering - the microswitch in the mechanical portion of the door module was knackered. I went to Maplin at bought miniture microswitch (part no N95AQ) and followed http://forums.tdiclub.com/show...&vc=1 and it all worked out well. Some of it was a bit trial and error when reassembling the door and I got the NO and NC round the wrong way on the switch on my first attempt but I had lots of fun with a multimeter and saved a bomb!
