Title: Rough Rev Range....
Post by: capoot on 04 September 2008, 20:01
Hi guys, I've got an intermittent problem.... again..

sometimes when the car starts its spluttering low down then finds idle at around 1.1k... then settles to around 800-900....

When driving i can put my foot to the floor in 2nd for instance and it'd be very heistant to around 3.5k... now i know that 16vs rev higher and thats where it kicks off...

However, ive changed the following; Fuel & ECU relay, Cleaned Throttle body & ISV, changed leads, plugs, dizzy and rotar arm...

Anything else i should look at? VAGCOM brings up no faults and i had camshaft and crank sensor changed this time last year by a VW specialist!

Help because im really losing the faith.

Look forward to your replies guys!

Thanks!

Dan

Check your injectors, spray pattern etc.
Faulty injectors can cause your probs

Spark plugs?

My sisters 1800 Escort Ghia had a similar problem! Wouldnt rev passed 3000 RPM or just screamed at you to change gear (I gotta say her car pulls well when it works and can even thrash my car IF I WAS DRIVING IT!! torque steers like a mo fo)
But for weeks it wouldnt rev any where near to what it should! Garage told us it was the spark plugs in the end!
