Basically I have a problem because I found out after much investigation that my boot rubbers which cover up the electrics have been slit and that the wires themselves have I presume also been cut at some point and reconnected as you can see in the picture (I have disconnected all the wires from each other here) (http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff251/amandaphotomeow/IMG_5964.jpg). So I decided that I really need to protect them from water damage so I bought new rubber bits, however now I realize that because the connectors connecting each wire together again are so fat that I couldn't possibly fit them all in. The wires do not have any extra length to play with either, so what can I do to fix everything?

cut the connectors off throw them in the nearest bin , solder some new wire on , tape or shrink wrap it up , feed it into the roof , then solder the other end on , tape or shrink wrap it up , then feed this into the boot , refit the boot and hey presto working again :)
dont forget to feed the new wiring through the rubber boot before soldering the second time

Thanks. I should really get round to getting a soldering iron then!

if you have a good scrappy nearby, pull out the entire tailgate wiring loom and swap it into your car. it is actually easier than you think to get the looms in/out! I manged fine on 2 cars without even any string to help pull it all thru.in your case though, attach some string to the wiper plug and the 2 screen heater plugs. Take off the black plastic trim from the screen heater plugs or they wont fit thru the holes, just a clip to release em.
Pull it all thru, and fit the replacement! There are plugs behind the C pillar or boot trim somewhere for the tailgate loom.
other option is to solder in palce as said, or pull it out and solder then refit! Even if you disconnect the plugs at the C pill ar you can pull them all out at the tailgate end a bit to give you more room to solder wires and fit an uncut rubber bootay :)
