i dont have a abf but you will most certainly need to order new gaskets before you put it all back together or it will leak...my mate had a mare with his

6mm allen key if its like a KR..
id worry about getting debris into the throttle body.
the polishing job will take forever - what equipment are you using

5 & 6mm Allen Keys
It took me absolutely ages to do mine! And I regretted starting it

Ha ha a Black and decker drill lmao , not as easy as i thought then, it'll probz take me more than a day then. will leave it for the time being and start on it later on, once ive got the rest of the car in shape. cheers for the info guys.

Heres mine, I started it while on the car, then removed it so i coould get inbetween all gaps. Once it was 600 grit all over I just polished it.
I have several small areas which show some small scratches, just cant be bothered to re sand & re polish.
My thumbs were killing me

Chwor that looks the nuts!!! deffo gonna be done, i think i'll start it on the car and take it off to give it the finishin touches, so are you gonna paint inside the letters??? How did you manage to keep debri from fallin into the manifold, or can you just rinse it out with water and leave to dry before putting it back on??

When you start it while its still attached you need to used a bed sheet or something to catch all the shavings!
And once its off, just bang a towel in each hole
I dunno, I think il paint the DOCH in Black, but not sure yet. Need to sort my rocker cover too

I was thinkin maybe do the vw badge red then the rest black?? or maybe the vw badge black and dohc and then 16v red, oh desicions! Cheers for the info bud will put pics up when engine bay is done.
