Went for a play on the Strip at Inters today. Up against a friends Bora. Was pleased with my efforts but thought it could go quicker. Managed a 0-60 time in 7.07 seconds which, for a Diesel ain't half bad. That was with shed loads of unnecessary wheelspin off the line Think it could go mid to late 6's if I got it right. Will have another go at GTI Festival.

Not a bad time fo r a truck at all... Like ya Mexica dude... One of the few GOOD fords...
-
Cheers, I have to agree
-
What about that short wheel base UR Quattro :o
0-60 in 2.5 seconds
1/4 mile 10 seconds
Even the twin engined V-dubs couldn't beat that :o
-
How come the bora took 10 secs to get to 60?
-
He fluffed it on the line ;D We only went up against each other for some fun. That Quattro was the biz, Best of the day. DROOOOOOOOOL!
-
That quattro .... god I really hope someone managed to get a video clip of it as it was the fastest thing on 4 wheels I've ever seen! Seen a far few things at places like Goodwood, but they never really give it any ...
Anyone see the Dubsport Mk3 vs R32 twin turbo? Both did 3.05 second 0-60 times and on road tyres from what I could see ... very impressive !!
Then on saturday there where the Red and the Gold Audi 'sleepers' both setting times in the 4's and 5's.
Shame it was damp or the times might have been even quicker !

Ok heres my experince, I had never been down the strip before, every year I say I'll do it and never get round to it, I got my ticket sat in the cue had a few nasty coments made like "look a girl, she's going to show you how to go slow" well that made me more determend to do it.
I did my first run and wondered why I was so worryed about doing it ;D there is no stopping me now, 5 runs later my times where
0-60 5.75 and 1/4 mile 14.33
So who still says girls go slow? not all of them :D
I am coming to GTI festi now want to get my time done to 5.3 ;)
-
I take it that was your lovely limited? ;D
-
Yes that was me
-
Opps not quite so lovely now, on way home I blew teh cv boot rear zorst side, loads of smoke cause grease etc... all over my zorst.
Taking it down the strip hadn't helped but at least it is a easy thing to fix!
-
How did your times compare with Gary? From what I've heard you were very close.

That is mental!
I liked the g6 dub tho that sounded awesome!
edited cos i made a gay comment and i decided not to be a gay :D

well on the first 2 runs, his 0 -60 was faster than mine but my 1/4 mile was fastest, so we were equal. :)
The best times were done on the next morning and we didn't take the Cupra back up. I hope to do a few more runs get a bit of practic and get that time down.
-
Good for you........that truly is a lovely and desireable car......still can't believe you got rid of the other one, especially now that Gary has, so quickly, sold the Cupra.
Tell me you regret letting it go........you must do :'(
Still..........mk1, eh.......top man ;D
-
He won't regret it, not now he's upgrading. ;D
-
And you fix yours.......where there's a will there's a way...we will help you to make that happen ;)
