I bought some crystal smoked crosshairs at ed38 on saturday and fitted them but the small bulb is now not working either side. And also I don't have very good main driving light brightness more like sidelights?

You got an uprated loom? Check that first of all.
Check that the sidelights are getting some volts (dunno how much they need, probs 4v? ), also check how much your main headlights are getting, they should have at least 9v if you don't have an uprated loom.
Are you sure you haven't blown the bulbs?
-
if it has the uprated loom theres usually some fuses located on it one of these might have blown
-
dim/dip resistor? :undecided:
-
i put some of these on my old golf an i took them back off! they looked good but i couldnt see in the dark lol! i think it was because the beam pattern was not good have you checked they're not for a LHD?
-
just for reference you should be gettin 12v at all bulbs, if your not then something, mainly connections, are creating resistance which is solved by an uprated loom.
Piece of cake to retro fit if you have electrical knowlegde. make and fitted my loom within an hour :)

as chris says, the dim dip resistor will bring on the dimed filemnt on the H4 bulbs dimly with the side lights if you have an uprated loom fitted or HIDs or summat. as for the wee bulbs have you taken em out to check they are not blown and cleaned up the contacts?
